How-To Upgrade to Windows 11 Now
For those of you who cannot wait for Windows 11 upgrade to reach you, here is a guide to manually upgrading your Win10 to Win11.
- The first thing you should do is make a backup of all the important documents and work (I recommend using One Drive or Google Drive).
- Microsoft offers the download of Windows 11 for free (link below) if your Win10 System Updates have not yet been rolled out to you (start>settings>Windows Update).
3. There will be 3 option for the installation on that page.
- Windows 11 Installation Assistant
- Create Windows 11 Installation Media
- Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)
4. Choose Windows 11 Installation Assistant option and click on Download Now.
5. IMPORTANT: Please run the file as an Administrator after you have finished downloading (see screenshot below). Installing the program without these steps may result in an error.
6. Installing Windows 11 begins by downloading its files in the background and continuing to do so until it finishes fully installing and restarting your PC.
Note: Because this is an upgrade, no files will be lost.
7. After restart, you will be ask to login to your brand new Windows 11.
